What are the advantages of aluminum-zinc alloy coating?

2026-01-30

Aluminized zinc alloy is developed based on the two anti-corrosion methods of hot-dip galvanizing and hot-dip aluminizing, combining the advantages of both. Hot-dip aluminized zinc-silicon coating possesses a series of advantages that galvanized coatings lack, and its applications are becoming increasingly widespread. It can be said that in any situation where galvanized steel can be used, aluminized zinc-silicon steel can also be used, and in most situations where aluminized steel is used, aluminized zinc-silicon steel can be used as a substitute.

(1) Replacing galvanized steel in situations requiring high corrosion resistance. Aluminized zinc-silicon steel has superior resistance to atmospheric corrosion and humid gas corrosion compared to galvanized steel, and can be used in a wide range of interior and exterior building materials and components.

(2) Replacing galvanized steel in situations requiring high processing performance. Its processing performance is similar to galvanized steel, with good bending formability, excellent unidirectional ductility, and weldability, allowing for cold bending, stamping, and welding into various shapes of components.

(3) Replacing aluminized steel in situations requiring high heat resistance and oxidation resistance. Aluminized zinc-silicon Steel Sheets can be used in high-temperature environments wheregalvanized sheets cannot, such as ovens, dryers, and coolers in household appliances, and tailpipes, mufflers, and heat sinks in automobiles.

(4) It can replace galvanized and aluminized sheets as a substrate for color coating and printing. The aluminized zinc-silicon coating has small crystal blooms, similar to aluminized sheetsand small-speckled/zero-speckled Galvanized Sheets, resulting in strong adhesion to paint and making it suitable as a substrate for color coating and printing.

(5) It offers good economic benefits, with lower production costs than both galvanized and aluminized sheets. Aluminized zinc sheets not only save a significant amount of expensive aluminum, but also allow for a 5% longer unfolded length for the same weight, thickness, and width of steel coil compared to galvanized sheets, reducing production costs, increasing prices, and improving the economic benefits for enterprises.
